Support Worker – Penleigh House (Downend, Bristol)

The Role
As a Support Worker, you will encourage a positive self-image, support health and wellbeing, assist individuals in making their own decisions, and promote independence in all aspects of daily life. You'll provide personal care, practical support, and companionship within a safe, homely environment.
Key Duties
* Assist with personal care, meals, and medication
* Support mobility and use of equipment (hoists, wheelchairs, etc.)
* Engage residents in activities, outings, and sensory experiences
* Keep accurate records and report any changes in health or behaviour
* Build trusting relationships with residents, families, and professionals
Shift Patterns
* 8:00am – 4:00pm
* 4:00pm – 10:00pm
* Additional sleep-in shifts as part of the rota
* Rotas are planned fairly and in advance to support work–life balance
What We're Looking For
* Experience in care or support work (learning disabilities or elderly care preferred)
* Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills
* A driving licence is desirable
* Commitment to high-quality, person-centred care
