Insights Analyst - Contract (Temp to Perm)

Contract length: 3 months initial (with potential to convert to permanent)
Location: Fully remote (occasional travel to Flintshire and London may be required)
Rate: Up to £600 per day (Umbrella)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Insights Analyst to join a Data Centre of Excellence on an initial contract basis, with a potential opportunity to move into a permanent position.
This role focuses on turning complex data into clear, decision‑ready insight. The Insights Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders to frame the right questions, deliver robust statistical analysis, and translate outcomes into actionable recommendations. They will also partner closely with an Analytics Engineer to ensure insights are supported by scalable, reusable data products within a modern data platform (Microsoft Fabric).
What the Insights Analyst will be doing:
1. Engaging stakeholders to translate business goals into well‑defined analytical problems
2. Performing statistical analysis and modelling using Python and/or R (. regression, time series, segmentation, driver analysis)
3. Applying strong analytical discipline: validation, interpretability, and clear documentation
4. Communicating insights through clear narratives, highlighting implications, trade‑offs, and uncertainty
5. Working with the Analytics Engineer to ensure outputs become reusable features, metrics, and datasets
6. Collaborating with federated analysts to drive consistent approaches and adoption
7. Operating in an agile environment with a focus on fast, high‑quality time‑to‑insight
Skills & experience for the Insights Analyst:
Essential
8. Experience with forecasting, attribution, inventory/supply analytics, or driver analysis
9. Hands‑on experience with Python and/or R for applied analytics
10. Proven background delivering statistical analysis and/or ML in a commercial setting
11. Excellent stakeholder management and problem‑framing skills
12. Ability to work closely with data and analytics engineering teams on data requirements and quality
13. Experience across commercial, supply chain, or manufacturing analytics
14. Experience with modern data platforms and notebook‑based workflows (Fabric preferred) as well as Azure and Dataflows.
