The Role

We are seeking a full-time lecturer in physical geography with expertise in geomorphology and hydrology. Your work will include teaching across all levels of undergraduate and postgraduate provision, module leadership, setting and marking assessments, and the provision of pastoral and academic support to students. Teaching will encompass both solo-taught and team-taught modules and will include teaching in the laboratory and field, with both residential and non-residential fieldwork. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to develop their profile in research and knowledge exchange, contributing to our growing research environment.

Key requirements

We are looking for applicants with:

· A completed PhD with expertise in geomorphology and hydrology.

· Ability to deliver high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

· An emerging record of research in a relevant area.

· Commitment to collegial and collaborative working across the discipline and beyond.

· A personal commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, meeting the needs of a diverse student body.

Ability to contribute to teaching GIS and/or quantitative methods would be advantageous. There will be a clear expectation that the successful candidate will work towards Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy if this is not already held.

It is anticipated that the selection process will include an interview and skills test. Further details will be provided if you are shortlisted for interview.

This role is eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, provided the relevant UKVI requirements are met. At this time, we’re only able to consider sponsorship for candidates who are currently based outside the UK.
