Operations / Production Manager required for Commercial Vehicle Company based in Cupar, Fife
1. Salary up to £48,000 DOE

We are working on behalf of a well-regarded commercial vehicle company seeking to appoint an experienced and driven Production / Operations Manager to lead their busy workshop operations.
This is a long-term, full-time opportunity offering a high level of responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact in a growing business with a newly expanded facility.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities as an Operations / Production Manager:
11. Lead and manage a team of skilled and semi-skilled workshop staff
12. Oversee workflow planning, production scheduling, and process optimisation
13. Recruit, develop, and manage performance through structured systems
14. Ensure full health and safety compliance and drive a strong safety culture
15. Prepare customer quotations using time and materials data
16. Monitor inventory, equipment usage, and vendor performance
17. Negotiate supplier contracts and manage vendor relationships
18. Generate operational performance reports and track KPIs
19. Implement and improve company policies, systems, and procedures
20. Support senior leadership with business development and strategic planning
Ideal Operations / Production Manager Profile:
21. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE ON THE TOOLS
22. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar operational leadership role
23. Strong people management and staff development skills
24. Confident in quoting, job pricing, and workflow optimisation
25. Experienced in managing workshop health and safety standards
26. Computer literate with strong reporting and analysis capability
27. Capable of vendor negotiation and supplier performance management
28. Excellent organisational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
29. Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
Additional Desirable Experience:
30. Background in SME vehicle workshop or paint shop operations
31. Experience applying Lean / Six Sigma principles
32. History of delivering cultural change through operational improvements
33. Hands-on knowledge of commercial vehicle workflows
