 
        
        Education Mental Health Professional – Qualified
The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Nottingham City were established in February 2020 to provide early intervention and preventative services to over 892 children and young people and their families. The team delivers individual and group interventions, workshops in schools, training and consultation supporting whole‑school approaches to mental health and wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities
 * Deliver low‑level guided self‑help and other therapeutic interventions to children and young people in schools, both face‑to‑face and remotely.
 * Work as an integral member of the MHST, supporting the whole‑school approach to mental health and emotional wellbeing.
 * Assist with psycho‑education to schools, parents and staff; adapt resources for online delivery.
 * Coordinate referrals to specialist services and engage with the wider network (education, social care, family, health).
 * Conduct group and individual assessments of children and young people with mild‑to‑moderate difficulties and support provision of additional specialist care where required.
Qualifications & Experience
 * Undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related subject.
 * Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1‑year Education Mental Health Practitioner postgraduate diploma, or Certificate in Children’s Wellbeing Practice (CWP) with post‑qualification experience in schools.
 * Experience delivering therapeutic interventions (e.g., Guided Self‑Help, CBT, parent work).
 * Experience working with children and families in educational and health settings dealing with mild‑to‑moderate mental health problems.
 * Ability to conduct group interventions and deliver psycho‑education to parents, teaching staff and young people.
 * Experience liaising with multidisciplinary teams and adapting resources for diverse cultural populations.
Contract Information
 * Permanent, full‑time, flexible working.
 * Salary range: £32,597 to £35,412 per year.
