Job Description
One of the UK's largest Property Management companies, Residential Management Group, has an opportunity for an experienced Fire Safety Coordinator, reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, providing direct support to the Fire Safety Manager. The Fire Safety Coordinator will be the first point of contact for all fire safety and building safety enquiries, responsible for initiating responses from competent personnel. The role is predominantly home-based but requires flexibility to travel to North or South sites (including Scotland and London) at short notice.
Responsibilities include:
1. Being the first point of contact for fire and building safety matters, providing advice where competent.
2. Managing fire safety enquiries and involving the FSM on complex issues.
3. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation and assisting with employee training.
4. Maintaining a library of fire safety and technical information.
5. Attending fire and health & safety committee meetings and providing data for reports.
6. Providing advice following enforcement notices and managing these on the central system.
7. Supporting Building Safety Case reports through assessments of HRBs from fire and structural perspectives.
8. Assisting with audits by FRS.
Requirements:
* Post-qualification experience in Fire, M&E, Construction, FM, or Property Management.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Building Safety Act, regulations, and guidance, including Approved Document B, Housing Act, RRFSO, and H&S legislation.
* Nebosh fire certificate or working towards Fire Diploma.
* Nebosh Certificate in Occupational H&S Tech.
* IOSH or higher, membership of IFE.
* Commercial acumen and organizational skills.
* Analytical skills for research and summaries.
* Ability to make independent and collaborative decisions.
* Ability to identify and report emerging risks.
* Building or structural surveying experience is highly beneficial.
