Purpose of the job
As a Senior Salesforce Solutions Consultant, you will play a key role within the Salesforce Centre of Excellence in shaping scalable, high-quality Salesforce solutions that support Collinson. You will translate business requirements into structured, implementation-ready solution designs, ensuring alignment with platform standards and long‑term sustainability.
Working closely with Architects, Developers, and Platform teams, you will define detailed functional and technical requirements and produce clear BDD user stories with precise acceptance criteria to enable efficient build and deployment.
This role requires strong Salesforce platform expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to balance configuration and customisation effectively. You will contribute to the consistency and quality of solution design practices across the Centre of Excellence while ensuring delivered solutions provide measurable business value and maintain platform integrity.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with business stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into structured Salesforce solution proposals.
* Advise on appropriate Salesforce platform capabilities to meet business needs, balancing configuration and customisation in line with agreed standards.
* Work closely with Solution and Technical Architects to ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture and integration patterns.
* Define detailed functional and technical requirements that are ready for development and configuration.
* Create developer‑ready user stories using BDD (Given / When / Then) format with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
* Break down larger initiatives into structured stories covering data model updates, automation logic, validation rules, security configuration, integrations, and reporting requirements.
* Collaborate closely with Developers and Administrators to refine requirements and resolve ambiguities during build.
* Provide clarity on edge cases, error handling expectations, and non‑functional considerations such as performance, security, and data handling.
* Support backlog refinement and sprint planning to ensure stories are sufficiently detailed and technically feasible.
* Validate delivered functionality against defined requirements and acceptance criteria during testing cycles.
* Ensure documentation is clear, structured, and aligned to Centre of Excellence standards.
* Promote configuration‑over‑code principles while documenting clearly where custom development is required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of requirement definition standards and Agile delivery practices within the Salesforce Centre of Excellence.
Knowledge, Skills, and experience required
* At least 6+ years’ experience delivering Salesforce solutions in enterprise or complex environments.
* Strong understanding of Salesforce core products (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) and broader platform capabilities.
* Proficiency in Salesforce configuration capabilities including Flows, Validation Rules, Approval Processes, Page Layouts, and Security Model (Profiles, Permission Sets, Sharing Rules, Role Hierarchy).
* Strong working knowledge of Salesforce data modelling concepts including object relationships and schema design.
* Good understanding of integration concepts including APIs, middleware patterns, and external system connectivity.
* Experience defining structured, implementation-ready user stories using BDD methodology.
* Experience working closely with Developers and understanding build and deployment considerations.
* Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
* Awareness of DevOps and release management processes within Salesforce environments.
* Experience designing reports and dashboards to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
* Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, or Business Analyst would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of additional Salesforce Clouds including Experience Cloud, Loyalty Management, Marketing Cloud, and Data Cloud would be an advantage.
* Conceptual understanding of Apex and custom development approaches.
