Division info: Nottingham landing gear operations span a 48,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated to the manufacture of small to medium landing gear components. Recognised as the UK Technical Centre of Excellence, the site specialises in precision machining of aluminium, titanium, and hardened steels. Equipped with advanced technologies, the facility leverages the latest manufacturing innovations and software to drive ongoing business growth and ensure operational excellence.
Division location and position summary
Summary of position: To set and operate a range of CNC controlled machinery within the company as required by specifications.
Salary: Starting rate varies dependant on experience from circa £37,900 p.a. to £44,100 p.a. inclusive of shift premium for a 3-shift rotation. Average yearly wage with overtime ranges from circa £45,000 to £52,000 (subject to availability).
Increment and shift: If operating multiple machines, a bonus of £2.00 per combined hour is applied (this is a standard practice, though not part of the contractual agreement).
Growth: There is plenty of room to grow over time and develop expertise in this role to achieve higher grading rates of £47,000 p.a. and above.
Shift Patterns: Week starts on Sunday 22:10 and finishes on Friday 06:00 for night shift; Week starts on Monday 05:55 and finishes on Friday 13:45 for morning shift; Week starts on Monday 13:55 and finishes on Friday 21:30 for afternoon shift.

* Setting and operating CNC machines including
o DMG DMC 160U
o WFL 120 / WFL 65
o MAZAK E500
o MAZAK Integrex i-400
o CINCINNATI FTV5
o UNION TC110
o TOS VARNSDORF WHN130MC
o MCM tank 1600 MP10 (10 pallets)
* Production of precision machined components and tooling items as required
* Checking the quality of components produced throughout the batch cycle
* Accurate recording of quantities and time allocation using company systems
* Carry out regular maintenance of the machines as per company schedules
Qualifications
* The role will involve setting and operating a variety of CNC 3/4/5 axis Milling machines, dealing with Aluminium, Steel and Titanium components to tight tolerances.
* Must have good level of understanding in using either Fanuc / Heidenheim / Mazatrol / Siemens machine control systems; and also willing to develop further CNC machining skills and abilities.
* Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by Senior Management.
