Job Role: We’re on the lookout for a meticulous and experienced Quantity Surveyor to become a key part of our growing team as a main contractor in the Health, Education, Insurance and Commercial sector. You’ll take ownership of project costs from early estimates through to final accounts, ensuring financial performance is managed with care and foresight. This role is ideal for someone who brings sharp analytical thinking, solid technical expertise, and a genuine passion for contributing to team success. Main Responsibilities: • Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates across a wide range of construction projects. • Lead feasibility assessments to ensure financial viability from the outset. • Monitor budgets and expenditure, implementing effective cost control strategies. • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver within budget and scope. • Prepare tender documentation and assist in procurement and contractor selection. • Carry out regular site visits to track progress and maintain alignment with project goals. • Advise on procurement options and manage contract-related queries. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records throughout each project lifecycle. • Produce clear, concise reports on costs, forecasts, and variances for management. • Contribute to business growth by offering ideas, improving systems, and building client relationships. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (essential). • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry. • In-depth knowledge of cost planning, forecasting, and control. • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy. • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a true team player. • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently. • A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for business growth and improvement. • MRICS qualification (preferred but not essential). • A full, valid driving licence.
