Secondary Teaching Assistant Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently seeking a dedicated Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term position in a welcoming and inclusive school in the Sandbach (CW11) area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils who need additional support, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. About the Role: Supporting students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs Working on a one-to-one basis or in small groups within a secondary classroom setting Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and adapting materials where necessary Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to teaching staff and SENCO Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging engagement through a nurturing approach Helping to create an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment for all studentsKey Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs Assist in the delivery of differentiated teaching and learning activities Build trusting and supportive relationships with students, helping to improve their confidence and independence Support classroom routines, behaviour management strategies, and emotional regulation Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals Contribute to the assessment and documentation of student progressRequirements: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in SEN or secondary school settings Understanding of a range of SEN conditions and the ability to adapt support accordingly Strong communication and interpersonal skills Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate) are desirable but not essential A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) References covering the last 2 yearsWhat We Offer: Long-term, full-time placement in a supportive and well-managed school Competitive weekly pay Dedicated consultant offering ongoing support and guidance Opportunities for CPD and further training The chance to make a genuine difference in students' livesIf you're looking for a rewarding role where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to support young people with SEN, we want to hear from you!
