An excellent opportunity has arisen for a reliable and practical Design & Technology Technician to join a well-established and inclusive secondary school in Harrow. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and takes pride in supporting safe, engaging, and well-organised practical lessons. As a key member of the DT department, you will play a vital role in ensuring workshops and specialist rooms run smoothly. Your work will directly support students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including those with Special Educational Needs, helping them access high-quality practical learning in a safe and supportive setting. Key responsibilities include: • Preparing tools, equipment, and materials for DT lessons • Maintaining machinery and equipment in line with health and safety standards • Supporting teachers during practical activities when required • Ensuring workshops and food rooms are clean, safe, and well organised • Carrying out safety checks, supporting risk assessments, and COSHH procedures • Managing stock levels, ordering resources, and keeping accurate records • Assisting with GCSE practical work and controlled assessments We are looking for someone who: • Has experience in a workshop, technical, or practical environment • Has a strong understanding of health and safety procedures • Is organised, proactive, and detail-oriented • Works well independently and as part of a team • Is committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing • Experience in a school setting, knowledge of DT materials and machinery, or additional qualifications such as Food Hygiene or First Aid are desirable but not essential.
