Key responsibilities: * Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers across waste management, disposal, and treatment operations, including MRF, compost, wood, plasterboard, skip sorting, and landfill. * Generate and secure profitable sales and upsells, achieving annual targets, and developing a strong pipeline of prospects through research, market awareness, and competitor monitoring. * Liaise with the Sales Manager on new products, services, markets, tenders, and reports, providing insights on customer activity, contract performance, and pricing structures. * Carry out duty of care audits and technical assessments to ensure re-processor facilities, waste streams, and operations comply with legislation, permits, and environmental regulations. * Manage contractual documentation and databases (quotations, audits, and customer records), ensuring accuracy and compliance with GDPR. * Support colleagues and field sales teams in achieving growth, attend sales meetings, and contribute to business development opportunities. * Ensure compliance with industry legislation (EPA, Duty of Care, Hazardous Waste), company policies, licences, and site rules, while upholding high standards of professionalism, health & safety, and confidentiality. * Promote the company’s values and image in all dealings with customers, colleagues, and the public, working collaboratively across divisions to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability. * Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, wear protective equipment, and demonstrate flexibility by working across different locations or taking on other reasonable duties as required. Ideal Candidate: * Proven experience in account management or client-facing roles. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships. * Commercial awareness with a track record of identifying growth opportunities. * Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities. * Proactive, driven, and confident in both written and verbal communication.
