An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Residential Support Worker to join a newly established mental health residential home in the Leicestershire area. This full-time, permanent role offers a chance to work within a nurturing environment dedicated to supporting young individuals with complex needs, assisting their recovery from mental health conditions. In this role, the Residential Support Worker will be responsible for building trusting and nurturing relationships that foster independence and resilience. The position involves working collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care. Tasks include supporting young people with daily activities such as cooking and cleaning, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring safeguarding policies are strictly followed to maintain a safe environment at all times. The role is based primarily in the Coalville region, although flexibility to travel around Leicestershire is essential as the post supports other local services until full operational capacity is reached. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to create a safe, supportive space for vulnerable children and young people, promoting their wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities. Key Requirements: Possession of a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to achieve this within the specified timeframe. Motivation to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives, supporting their mental health recovery and resilience. Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and protecting vulnerable children and young people. Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays. Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential—attitude and willingness to learn are key.
