Role: Marketing and Communications Research Assistant (LINC Multimorbidity)
The successful candidate will provide marketing and communications support for a large multisite consortium project called Physical and Mental Health Multimorbidity Across the Lifespan (LINC). LINC has been studying the development of co-occurring physical and mental health disorders (multimorbidity) for the past three years and is now disseminating recent research findings.
LINC involves collaboration between Cardiff University (lead site), the University of Bristol, the University of Leeds, Queen Mary University of London, the Mental Health Services Capital Region of Denmark, Roskilde University, the University of Exeter, and the Wellcome Sanger Institute. The team includes researchers, postdoctoral fellows, PhD and medical students, and patient and public representatives. It maintains links with stakeholders such as local and central government, the NHS, education authorities, and patient support charities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Establish working relationships with key contacts, developing communication links with the University’s Schools/Directorates and external bodies as required.
2. Identify new outreach opportunities using existing contacts and networks.
3. Manage social media campaigns and press releases, including writing and editing content.
4. Create newsletters to share updates from the project, including engagement activities, publications, and success stories.
5. Manage and update webpages, including adding new content such as blogs.
6. Support the development of videos and podcasts.
7. Work with academics and stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
8. Support event organization, including stakeholder events, webinars, roundtables, and workshops.
9. Analyze outreach metrics to assess research impact.
10. Provide marketing and communications support to team members.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Education:
* Working towards a degree, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent professional experience or membership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Knowledge of marketing and communications principles, able to advise internal and external contacts.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Experience in developing new processes and procedures.
Customer Service, Communication, and Team Working:
* Ability to communicate complex information effectively with diverse audiences.
* Experience exploring customer needs and adapting services accordingly.
* Ability to develop networks for long-term development.
Planning, Analysis, and Problem Solving:
* Ability to solve problems using initiative and creativity, proposing practical and innovative solutions.
* Knowledge of key advances in marketing and communications.
* Experience managing projects and supervising short-term teams.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience working in Higher Education.
* Fluency in Welsh, written and oral.
