Compliance and Enforcement Officer
The Planning and Infrastructure Service are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join its busy Planning Compliance and Enforcement Team.
The main purpose of the role is to support the delivery of an effective compliance and enforcement service covering all types of unauthorised developments relating to the Planning Acts and to ensure that development is carried out in accordance with approved plans.
You will be responsible for proactively managing a caseload of compliance and enforcement investigations into reported breaches of planning control from receipt of an initial complaint through to appeals arising from enforcement action. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in town planning and/or planning enforcement with a working knowledge of the relevant legislation and planning policy/guidance.
Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills are essential as is the ability to deliver high quality advice in a timely manner to a wide range of customers. You will also be extremely organised, able to take responsibility for your own work and at the same time also contribute to the overall work of the team. The role reports to the Principal Planning Officer - Compliance and Enforcement.
A full driving licence is essential for this role.
