Overview
An exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the Specialist Service Teams as Administrative Team Lead, based at Benfield House on the Walkergate Park Hospital site in Newcastle.
The post holder will supervise staff in the Mental Health and Deafness Service and Adult Eating Disorders Service, primarily supervising and working with the Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day supervisory responsibility for a growing admin team comprising 4 Band 3 Admin Officers and 3 Band 2 Admin Assistants.
- Recruit, appraise, train, manage performance and quality of admin staff.
- Support the Gender Dysphoria Service Pathway Coordinator and Medical Assistants to ensure efficient and streamlined service delivery.
- Work closely with clinical staff and report directly to the Administration Manager.
- Monitor staff performance and processes, including diary management and note-taking.
- Order supplies, request repairs and update rotas and duty sheets.
- Ensure confidentiality, sensitivity and compliance with NHS standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven supervisory, leadership and administrative experience; NHS Trust experience preferred.
- Experience in diary management and note-taking.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving ability in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Awareness of transgender issues and gender diversity.
- Previous experience supervising staff.
- Capacity to work to a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity.
