Job Title: Senior Category Manager
Location: Home working with regular travel into our Bradford office
Salary: circa. £65000 (depending on experience) plus £6,400 car allowance
Contract Type: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
As Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Developing and implementing a series of strategic category plans for major and complex categories, working with senior business stakeholders to align the needs.
* Managing strategic relationships with high risk / high value suppliers and supporting the supplier management framework.
* Develop and deliver annual value for money / cost savings programme to the organisation
* Providing expert Procurement guidance to a range of internal stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with the business governance and policy requirements whilst applying a risk-based approach to deliver maximum value.
* Develop, motivate and manage a team of Category Managers and Category Assistants to support sourcing activity across a diverse spend portfolio
About you
Ideally you will:
* Be a Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience.
* Have a degree level qualification plus senior specialist procurement knowledge and experience.
* Have evidence of continuous professional development (CPD), preferably with reference to Procurement Act (2023)
It would be great if you have:
* Extensive experience within a senior procurement and supply chain role, preferably with experience of Procurement Act 2023
* Significant experience & understanding and application of Strategic sourcing methodologies.
* Advanced negotiation experience.
* Experience of contract management.
* Experience of leading a team, delegation and empowerment.
* Experience of project managing complex procurement activities from initial planning to contract award.
* Experience of supplier relationship/stakeholder management.
* Experience of building collaborative partnerships with internal customers
* Track record of ability to develop and deliver against value for money / cost saving targets.
* Management of resources and financial risk and commercial acumen.
* Experience of sourcing, mapping and managing supply chain partners
Ideally, we'd also like you to have/be:
* Fabulous communication skills
* Great relationship building skills
* Excellent organisational/time management skills
* Great IT skills
