Talent STEM are partnering with a highly established manufacturing organisation based in Newcastle who are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team on a permanent basis. This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong fault-finding and manufacturing maintenance experience who is looking to join one of the region’s true long-term career employers. The Opportunity This is a hands-on engineering role where you will support the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of production machinery and site services within a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating across a 24/7 operation. Working alongside an experienced engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment uptime, supporting production and contributing towards ongoing engineering improvements and projects. Salary & Benefits - £50,000 - £57,500 total package including shift allowance - Continental shift pattern - Long-term career development opportunities - Established and stable manufacturing environment Key Responsibilities - Perform routine and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment - Diagnose and repair electrical faults across production machinery and supporting equipment - Support Siemens PLC fault finding and diagnostics activities - Work with AC/DC drives and industrial control systems - Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives - Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment - Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system - Support production teams to minimise downtime and improve machine performance - Ensure all engineering activities are completed in line with health and safety procedures including LOTO and permit-to-work systems About You We are looking for a proactive and technically strong Electrical Engineer with experience working within manufacturing or process environments. You will likely bring: A completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent - HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline - Experience fault finding on Siemens PLC systems - Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and schematics - Experience within manufacturing, production or process industries - Knowledge of drives, control systems and industrial networks such as Profibus or Profinet would be advantageous - Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team Why Apply?
