An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic individual to apply for this exciting and challenging management role within the Estates Department.
Working in a relatively small but busy department, the successful candidate will be required to operate at both a National and Local level, to manage and undertake a wide range of environment activities and utility monitoring. This will be carried out using specialist systems, and there will be a requirement to support accurate and effective data input, interpretation, and management of this data.
The postholder will support the journey towards Net Zero in the Built Environments by implementing policies and schemes to support this requirement. They will manage compliance with the requirements of all carbon emissions reduction legislation relating to energy sources. While not expected to have an in-depth knowledge of these schemes, an understanding and interest will be important in selecting the correct candidate.
The successful applicant should have experience in engineering systems and installations; knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is desirable, but training will be provided.
The successful applicant will require good communication and management skills and have the ability to work to deadlines in an ever-demanding environment. They will need to work well unsupervised and effectively as part of a team, fostering positive and cooperative relationships with all other groups and departments, both internal and external to the organisation.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
