Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Support Technician to join our Maintenance Engineering team at Shirebrook. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance support for distribution systems and equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable operations. This is a semi-skilled maintenance role that requires attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively, and closely with the maintenance technician team in a fast-paced environment. There will be opportunities to develop your skills and potentially progress through an apprenticeship scheme.
This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with a rotation of days and nights.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:
* Provide maintenance support for distribution systems, including conveyor belts, sorting machines, and automated storage systems. Work closely with maintenance technicians and support autonomous work.
* Troubleshoot and resolve simple issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Maintenance and Repairs:
* Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on distribution equipment with appropriate support where required.
* Support in ensuring all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
System Monitoring:
* Monitor the performance of distribution systems to identify potential issues.
* Report irregularities or potential problems to the maintenance supervisor.
Safety and Compliance:
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and compliance checks.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain detailed records through CMMS of all support and maintenance activities.
Collaborative Efforts:
* Work closely with distribution and logistics teams to support seamless operations.
* Assist with implementing new systems and technologies within the distribution center.
Qualifications

Desirable but not essential:
* A qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or prior experience in semi-skilled maintenance roles. This is an entry-level engineering role, so qualifications or experience are desirable but not necessary if you have a passion for engineering.
