Job Responsibilities
* Independently manage a caseload, ensuring responsibility aligns with knowledge and skills.
* Engage directly with children, young people, and families, prioritizing their safety and utilizing the Signs of Safety methodology to empower families while adhering to policies and regulatory standards.
* Conduct comprehensive family assessments focusing on social need, risk to children, parental capacity, and capacity for change.
* Identify indicators of harm, such as sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, neglect, and consider risks like Child Sexual Exploitation and grooming.
* Utilize reflective supervision and research to recognize professional limitations and seek advice from supervisors and clinical practitioners.
* Navigate family and youth justice systems, using legal powers to support families and protect children, including preparing and presenting evidence in court.
* Seek advice on legal issues, interventions, and plans impacting children and families in statutory services.
* Apply law, regulatory, and statutory guidance to inform practice decisions, balancing professional ethics and social policy impacts.
* Create child-centered plans within review timelines to manage risks and meet children's needs, collaborating with multi-agency partners.
* Continuously develop knowledge of child development and adult behaviors impacting parenting and child development.
* Understand working in a complex organization and act to protect the reputation of Lincolnshire County Council and the Social Work profession.
* Arrange or provide transport and practical support for service users, including those seeking independent living.
* Maintain and update case notes, write reports, and provide court evidence as needed.
* Contribute to planning and reviewing cases of children in care and supervise fostering/adoption arrangements.
* Offer mentoring, work-shadowing opportunities, and pursue qualifications and team champion roles.
Person Specification
* Recognized qualification in Social Work (Degree, PGDip, or MA/MSc).
* Registered with the HCPC, ensuring maintenance and renewal of registration.
* Exhibit professional curiosity and the ability to work collaboratively in partnership.
* Possess a valid driving license.
* Demonstrate relationship-building skills, social confidence, and adaptability.
* Show emotional resilience and strong writing, reporting, and evaluative skills.
* Be conscientious and able to converse fluently in English to provide accurate advice.
