Greenhill School is a successful, highly respected special school located in the village of Rhiwbina, Ely and several other locations around the city of Cardiff, with 150 pupils on roll, aged 11-19 with a primary need of social, emotional and mental health difficulties and complex ASC needs.

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint two dynamic and inspirational classroom practitioners starting 1 September 2026 or as soon as possible afterwards.

The successful candidates will:

have experience of working with pupils KS3/4/5 who display distressed behaviours and/or additional learning needs (ALN), be willing to work with the most challenging pupils, have an outstanding track record in relation to learning and teaching in their classroom;

have experience of working in a trauma informed and mental health informed environment with a willingness to achieve practitioner status;

have a proven ability to use outdoor learning to engage, motivate and inspire some of Cardiff’s most challenging and vulnerable young people;

demonstrate excellent communication skills to work effectively in partnership with parents, staff, governors, and outside agencies;

ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member;

have high expectations of achievement and a commitment to raising standards.

We are a friendly, trauma informed school with high aspirations for all our pupils. Please note that therapy dogs are an integral part of the school’s work.
