Accommodation Foreman 📍 Broxburn, Scotland | Permanent, Full-Time | £36,504 | 45 hours per week | Days
Jackson Hogg is supporting a well-established hire and services business in recruiting an Accommodation Foreman to join their depot operations team in Broxburn.
This is a hands-on supervisory role with real ownership you'll lead the accommodation team day-to-day, maintain product and housekeeping standards, manage your team's workload and resource, and make sure every hire is delivered on time and to specification. You'll be the person the team looks to for direction, and the person management relies on to keep the depot running to standard.
What the role involves:
* Supervising the accommodation team distributing work equitably, keeping pace, and ensuring hire commitments are met
* Inspecting and auditing all hire products before despatch checking mandatory standards, correct furniture kits, heaters, cookers and ancillaries are included
* Identifying and resolving product issues on the ground leakages, breakdowns, defects dealt with promptly and cost-effectively
* Ensuring all service check sheets and documentation are completed accurately and on time, including e-codes and lock details
* Managing team resource — scheduling, overtime, annual leave, and absence reporting to HR
* Overseeing drivers' daily vehicle checks and inspections of lifting and holding equipment including straps and chains
* Ensuring all products returned from hire are inspected, damage recorded, and site damages raised for authorisation and client charging
* Raising requisitions for consumables, parts, and outsourced refurbishment
* Maintaining depot organisation internally and externally designated areas clearly identifiable, products stored correctly
* Championing 5S protocols and lean methods across the operation
* Supporting and coaching team members, identifying training needs, and managing performance in line with company policy
* Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with Health & Safety policies, method statements, and PPE requirements
What you'll need:
* Experience in a customer-facing operational or supervisory role
* Strong time management and the ability to prioritise a varied, fast-moving workload
* Good geographical knowledge of the region
* Computer literate
* Physically capable this is a role that requires hands-on work alongside your team
Forklift training will be provided in-house for the right candidate.
You'll be a good fit if you lead by example, hold standards without micromanaging, communicate clearly across all levels, and solve problems on the ground without needing to escalate everything upward. You're organised, consistent, and take pride in the output of your team.
