Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

ANZUK Education has an excellent working relationship with a primary school in and Haringey, and we are looking to recruit an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the team.
As an HLTA, you will not only be responsible for providing 1:1 support for students, but also at times will oversee the whole class and when needed, deliver lessons to the students. Please see below an outline of the key responsibilities and required experience.
Teaching and Learning Support:
Deliver planned lessons or learning activities for whole classes, small groups, or individuals in the absence of the class teacher.
Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons in line with school curriculum and policies.
Support pupils in understanding instructions, clarifying learning objectives, and achieving targets.
Adapt resources and strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, or additional barriers to learning.
Monitor and assess pupils’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to record-keeping and reporting.
Implement behaviour management strategies consistently in line with school policy. Pupil Support:
Promote the inclusion and well-being of all pupils, supporting their academic, social and emotional development.
Supervise pupils during lessons and unstructured times (e.g., lunch, transitions) as required.
Provide targeted intervention or mentoring for pupils to support progress and engagement.
Encourage independence and self-confidence in pupils.
HLTA Qualifications and Experience:
HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
Relevant, classroom-based experience.
Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
