Maintenance Technician Salary : £26,769 - £27,497 Permanent | Full Time 40 hours per week Keep Our Learning Environments Safe, Functional and Ready for Learning We're looking for a proactive, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help ensure our sites are safe, secure and fully operational. This is a varied, practical role where no two days are the same and your work directly supports the learning environment for young people. About the Role You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of multiple learning environments, ensuring buildings, equipment and outdoor spaces are safe, clean and fit for purpose. Working independently and across different locations, you'll respond to maintenance needs, carry out repairs and support planned preventative maintenance. What You'll Be Doing Carrying out general repairs, decorating and routine maintenance Maintaining fixtures, fittings, equipment and building fabric Monitoring heating, lighting, ventilation and other building systems Managing site security, including opening/locking and alarm checks Keeping outdoor areas safe, tidy and hazard-free Supporting statutory checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, PAT testing) Handling portering duties, deliveries, room setups and waste management Responding to urgent maintenance issues and site emergencies Driving company vehicles, including minibuses, when required What We're Looking For Have practical maintenance and repair skills (basic joinery, plumbing, electrical work) Be confident working independently across multiple sites Take pride in maintaining safe, high-quality environments Be proactive, reliable and solution-focused Understand the importance of Health & Safety in a school setting Essential Requirements Full UK driving licence Ability to travel between sites Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures Experience in a maintenance or facilities role Why This Role?
