Overview
We’re hiring a designer and front‑end builder who can take a website from concept to a finished, live site with minimal hand‑holding. This is a hands‑on role, not a strategy or management one: you’ll design, build and deliver client websites to a high standard, alongside the visual assets that support them.
What you’ll be doing
- Build client websites end to end, handling design, build, and delivery across multiple active projects for businesses in Northern Ireland and beyond.
- Produce visual assets that go with the web work – brand identities, campaign visuals, social graphics, ad creative, brochures, and digital‑first design systems.
- Work in an AI‑first agency, using AI tools daily for moodboarding, concept exploration, layout iteration, asset generation, copy drafts, code troubleshooting, and generating site sections at speed. You’ll bring new tools and approaches as they emerge.
- Use your judgement, eye and final quality control to ensure the work meets our high standards.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years in a graphic design role, ideally within an agency, studio or fast‑paced in‑house team.
- A portfolio showing strong work across brand, digital and campaign design.
- Strong grasp of design fundamentals: typography, layout, branding and digital design principles.
- Proficient with WordPress: confident across themes, plugins, and customisation, and comfortable building sites from scratch.
- Comfortable picking up new builders, plugins, and platforms quickly, including new AI tools.
- Fluency with industry‑standard design software and prototyping tools used in agency environments.
- UX awareness – understand how design affects conversion and how to structure pages to drive desired actions.
- Ability to present and explain your work, walking clients or colleagues through design decisions.
- Ability to integrate AI tools into your day‑to‑day workflow.
Nice to have
- Agency experience working across web and social content.
- Comfort with responsive design and social‑first campaigns.
- Experience collaborating with strategists, developers, content teams and performance marketers.
- WooCommerce or other e‑commerce on WordPress.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles such as page speed, image optimisation and heading structure.
The person
- Self‑motivated, takes a brief, asks the right questions and gets on with it.
- Strong eye for detail – notices what’s off without being told. Cares about alignment, spacing, consistency and image quality.
- Open to feedback; comfortable giving and receiving it.
- Ambitious and curious, especially about AI and new tools.
Practical details
- Location: Office‑based in Belfast, just outside the city centre – free parking on site.
- This is not a remote role; you must be in the office every working day.
- Flexible hours – we finish at 4:30pm each day.
- Salary: £28k–£35k depending on experience, flexible if portfolio justifies it. Annual reviews tied to KPIs.
- Training budget: Dedicated yearly budget for courses, conferences and tools.
- Social side: Regular team socials throughout the year.
How to apply
Send a portfolio link and a short introduction. We’re more interested in the work than the CV; live sites, before and afters, and design samples matter more than a list of job titles.
Applicants must be based in or around Belfast and able to work from our office five days a week; remote, hybrid and international applications will not be considered.
