Overview

Join to apply for the SEN / SEND Tutor, Gloucestershire role at Targeted Provision.

We are seeking qualified SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Gloucestershire. This role focuses on 1:1 tutoring for young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach.

Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and may require support in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities

* Plan each session of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring
* Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet needs and advance educational and social-emotional journeys
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress


SEN / SEND Tutor requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available to obtain at cost)
* Two professional references
* You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK

It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.


SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status

* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a set amount of work nor expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
