King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching trusts, with a turnover of approximately £1.8 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 15,000 staff based across five main sites in South East London.
We encourage all staff to have a healthy work/life balance and offer flexible working options from the beginning of employment.
The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from the King’s College Hospital (KCH) Denmark Hill site and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.
A qualified and experienced mammographer will work autonomously within specialist areas, consulting senior staff as and when necessary, and will be accountable for their own professional actions. The role requires assessment, management and prioritisation of a caseload, and providing advice and guidance to patients and other health care professionals.
You should be a radiographer registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), hold either a BSc in radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers, and have the UK Postgraduate Award in Mammography. Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to technical and patient care quality are essential. Interest in clinical teaching is desirable, and flexibility to travel between all South East London sites is required.
A Genuine Occupational Requirement under the 1975 Sex Discrimination Act Section 7(ii) applies to this post so we are only looking for female applicants.
