Receptionist – Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Location: Civic Centre, Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn, BT27 4RL Hours: 37 hours per week Rate: £13.69 Per Hour Role Overview We are recruiting a professional and friendly Receptionist to join Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council at the Civic Centre. You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, supporting daily front-of-house operations, managing bookings, and assisting with general administrative duties. Key Responsibilities ✅ Welcome visitors, staff and contractors in a professional manner ✅ Answer calls, handle queries and transfer calls appropriately ✅ Manage meeting room and event bookings at the Civic Centre ✅ Maintain visitor logs and ensure site security procedures are followed ✅ Assist with general administrative and clerical duties ✅ Handle incoming and outgoing mail ✅ Provide excellent customer service at all times ✅ Ideal Candidate Previous reception or front-of-house experience in an office, council, or hospitality environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Confident using Microsoft Office Suite and phone systems Strong organisational and multitasking ability Professional, courteous, and reliable Skills & Attributes Teamwork & time management Attention to detail Customer-focused approach Proactive problem solving Professional appearance and demeanour Working Hours Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Friday
