Park Operative urgently required to work within the Belfast City Council, based at Grove Park, York Road. Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 3.30pm and Friday 7.30am - 3pm. Hourly Rate: £14.35 This is initially a 3-month temporary position, with the possibility of extension based on performance. Main Duties: Maintain buildings, including cleaning (sweeping, mopping and dusting) and moving equipment and materials. Carry out horticultural and minor arboricultural work such as planting trees, shrubs and plants. Perform general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming and upkeep of park areas. Inspect playgrounds, play equipment and park furniture and carry out minor repairs. Drive and be responsible for allocated vehicles and trailers, including loading and unloading equipment and materials such as mowers, barrows, plants, soil and fertilisers. What we need from you: Hold a full, current C1+E driving licence (Vehicles and trailers) At least one years experience in: Gardening and horticulture (plant care, grass cutting, hedge trimming, turfing, planting, sweeping, litter/rubbish removal). Using powered hand tools and equipment safely. Working face-to-face with the public.
