Job Title: HS&E Advisor – Mechanical Construction Project
Location: North Ayrshire - Fulltime onsite
Scope: Outside IR35
Overview
We are seeking an experienced HS&E Advisor to support the safe and compliant delivery of a mechanical construction project. The successful candidate will provide proactive health, safety and environmental support to site teams, ensuring full compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 while driving continuous improvement in site standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide proactive HS&E support to site management and project teams
2. Undertake regular site inspections and compliance audits
3. Review and challenge RAMS and risk assessments
4. Monitor compliance with CDM Regulations 2015
5. Liaise effectively with the Principal Contractor and subcontractors
6. Support incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions
7. Provide clear, concise reporting to the Head of HS&E
8. Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental performance
Essential Criteria
9. Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a construction site environment
10. NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
11. Minimum TechIOSH membership
12. Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
13. Mechanical or Electrical contractor background
14. Previous experience in a CDM site support role
15. Experience working directly with a Principal Contractor
16. Proven experience undertaking site inspections and audits
17. Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Criteria
18. Experience on complex mechanical installation projects (e.g. plant rooms, HVAC, pipework, lifting operations)
19. Experience supporting Principal Contractor duties under CDM
20. Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience
21. Experience driving behavioural safety improvements
22. Experience using digital reporting systems
23. Environmental awareness within construction environments
