Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in grounds maintenance and horticulture, demonstrating proficiency in the use of various hand and power tools. This role involves maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of outdoor spaces, ensuring that all grounds are well-kept and inviting. You will be working as part of a team on school, commercial and domestic sites mainly in the Bucks, Beds, Oxon and Herts areas. This position is subject to a satisfactory DBS check. A full clean UK driving license is essential.
Duties
* Perform grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, strimming, hedge trimming weeding and chemical application, litter picking, leaf clearance, jet washing and planting.
* Operate and maintain power tools and hand tools effectively.
* Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed
Experience / Advantages
* Proven experience in grounds/ garden maintenance or a related field is preferred.
* Familiarity with horticulture principles and practices is advantageous.
* Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for equipment operation and maintenance.
* Experience with ground care and some ride on machinery is advised.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team is crucial. We encourage candidates who are passionate about outdoor work and possess the necessary skills to apply for this position.
* PA1 / PA6 pesticide licenses
