We are working with a highly respected law firm in Essex who are recruiting for a Planning Solicitor or experienced Paralegal to be part of their collaborative and close-knit department. Position Overview
You will work closely with a wide range of clients, from developers and landowners to local authorities and referrers, advising on complex planning and infrastructure issues. Your role will be central to the team's continued success and reputation in this niche area of law.
Responsibilities
1. Draft and negotiate infrastructure agreements including s106, s38, s272, and s104
2. Provide practical, strategic advice on planning law matters
3. Prepare and submit applications for certificates of lawfulness
4. Represent clients in planning appeals and enforcement matters
5. Handle statutory challenges (s288) and judicial reviews
6. Act for both prosecuting and defending parties in enforcement cases
7. Build strong client relationships and act in their best interests
8. Support the team in developing new business and strengthening referrer networks
Requirements
9. Experience in Planning Law, gained in either local government or private practice
10. Genuine interest in building a long-term career in this specialist area
11. Strong reputation for delivering clear, high-quality advice
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
13. Commercially minded, proactive, and confident in networking
