Description of Position
The Purchasing Manager is an integral part of not only the production process, but also the overall success of the business. Overseeing a team of 2, they are responsible for sourcing the raw materials, CNC machined components & soft goods for three group companies, all at the most competitive price and lead-time. As well as managing the worldwide supply chain, a key area of the role is in the estimating, hence this role would be ideal for somebody with prior machining experience whom has progressed from a shopfloor environment into the office. Strong negotiating, networking, experience of Microsoft Excel and mathematical ability as well as knowledge of sustainability, risk management and ethical issues are highly desirable. As most of the Company’s revenue is spent on the procurement of raw materials and parts, the candidate has the chance to make a real difference in cost saving and therefore, profits for the business. Essential Skills Required
A proven track record of MRP management, cost cutting and procurement control
A good understanding of CNC (Milling & Turning)
High competence level of Microsoft Excel
Be methodical and process driven with a modern mindset
A “can do” attitude and be approachable
Willingness to assist in problem solving
Full UK Drivers Licence
MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO BRIGHOUSE, HD6
Highly Desirable Skills
Degree / CIPS qualified or 5+ years in a similar role within the oil & gas industry
3 years management experience
Valve knowledge
Raw material knowledge (Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Duplex, Nickel Alloys etc)

Overseas travel may be required as part of this role for supplier visits
Working Hours
38.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday : 8.00am – 4.45pm – lunch 12.30 to 13.00 (or as required).
Friday : 8.00am – 13.30pm – no lunch
