Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Coleraine require a Risk Officer/Assistant Internal Auditor to join their team.
Hours of work : 37 hrs per week
Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks £ 13 weeks +£
Main Duties :
1. Lead on the embedding and continuous improvement of the risk management framework.
2. To assist in the coordination of the effective management of risk across Council to foster the development of a culture where risks and opportunities are proactively identified, assessed, reviewed and controlled in all areas.
3. To oversee the implementation and compliance of Council risk strategy, policies and procedures, supporting risk management work plans to ensure business continuity.
4. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
5. To assist Audit Risk and Governance Manager with Internal Audit across Council.
6. Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.

Essential Criteria :
7. A degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant discipline,, risk management, finance, accounting, insurance, business or administration.
AND
8. Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples on the application form, two years' relevant experience to include the following:
9. Practical experience of applying risk management principles to include conducting risk management audits, risk assessments and monitoring and reviewing risk registers
10. Implementing and reviewing business risk management processes (strategic, business and operational)
11. Conducting Internal Audit's
12. Providing support and advice to internal departments/key stakeholders
13. A clear knowledge of the workings of local government and the wider environment in which it operates.
14. A sound knowledge of the legislative framework governing the work of the Council, including corporate governance principles
15. A full current driving licence (Category B, valid in the UK) and access to a vehicle that will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
