I'm currently working with a major civil engineering contractor who is delivering a large-scale infrastructure project in the Home Counties, and we're now looking to bring on board a Project Manager with solid experience in water and utilities works.
This is a 52-week contract, outside IR35, and is due to kick off in June or July — ideal for someone who’s looking to secure their next long-term contract on a complex and rewarding scheme.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role involves managing a multi-package civils job with some technically demanding elements. You’ll be responsible for:
* Leading the delivery of:
* 5km+ of water mains
* Over 1km of ducting
* Drainage, manholes, and slab placement
* Precast concrete structures and prefabricated tanks
* Coordinating multiple contractors, subcontractors, and site managers
* Ensuring programme, cost, and quality targets are met
* Chairing progress meetings and reporting to senior stakeholders
* Working closely with the client team, suppliers, and design consultants
What We’re Looking For
To hit the ground running, you’ll need:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil engineering, ideally on large infrastructure or utilities-heavy projects
* Strong technical understanding of water & utilities installations
* Familiarity with precast and prefabricated systems
* Confident managing multiple workstreams and contractor packages on-site
* Knowledge of HSEQ and CDM regs
* SMSTS and CSCS essential
* Engineering degree or relevant qualification preferred
