Team Leader – Production
Salary: £36,823 – £41,781 DOE
Location: Ulverston
Job Type: Permanent | Full Time | 38 hours over 4 days
Our client, a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Team Leader to join their growing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Production Team Leader or an ambitious Production Operative ready to step into a leadership role.
Working within steel fabrication and assembly environments, you will play a key role in leading, developing, and motivating a successful production team while driving performance, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within the production facility, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and product quality are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
8. Leading, motivating, and developing a team of approximately 15 employees
9. Managing daily workloads, staffing requirements, and supporting hands-on production activities when required
10. Ensuring production work orders and goods inward checks are completed on time and to the highest standard
11. Supporting production planning and resource allocation to meet operational KPIs and customer expectations
12. Driving continuous improvement initiatives and promoting Lean manufacturing principles
13. Maintaining high standards of health & safety, housekeeping, and quality compliance
14. Conducting risk assessments, H&S inspections, and supporting 5S activities
15. Monitoring team attendance and performance
16. Encouraging a positive and collaborative working culture focused on development and success
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capability and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
17. Previous experience in a production leadership or supervisory role
18. Experience within fabrication, manufacturing, or assembly operations
19. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
20. Strong people management and communication skills
21. Experience conducting risk assessments and H&S inspections
22. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
23. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
24. A results-driven approach with a strong focus on quality and performance
