Role Overview
This is a depot-based role for a qualified Electrician with experience in the preparation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and accessories. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a proactive approach to workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and test single and three-phase electrical equipment, including distribution panels, AMF panels, and transformers
* Assemble and test electrical cables and accessories, including Powerlock, lugged, and Ceeform connectors
* Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical equipment to operational and safety standards
* Source and manage spare parts and maintain workshop stock
* Support general depot tasks including loading/unloading and off-hiring equipment
* Communicate with the operations team regarding equipment availability and shortfalls
* Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant working environment
* Contribute to continuous improvement in workshop procedures and safety practices
Skills and Experience Required
* Relevant qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC)
* OR completed an approved apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
* OR proven hands-on experience in servicing and repairing electrical equipment
* Knowledge of control systems or load bank testing is desirable (training provided if needed)
* CSCS card preferred (training can be arranged)
* Full UK driving licence
