We're recruiting Waste Collection Operatives to join the Refuse & Recycling service in Wakefield, supporting local council district residents, business and commercial waste collections and unwanted household waste removals. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, being outdoors, and contributing to an essential community service. The Role To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team working throughout the borough delivering council services and responding to community priorities ensuring that the household waste collection service is completed daily Key Responsibilities: To undertake operational duties in all weathers, which will involve a wide range of physically and mentally demanding tasks. To work under the guidance of the driver and supervisor in conjunction with the use of personal initiative to deliver services to a professional standard and within agreed guidelines To work to agreed schedules, standards and where necessary respond positively to new initiatives as required or directed by your line managers ensuring all targets are met To comply with Health and Safety, Customer Care, Dignity at Work and other relevant legislation, policies and procedures at all times Use ICT solutions to deliver existing services, including the completion of electronic records to support new services and initiatives Working Hours 4 days on between Monday and Friday 9.25‑hour shifts 07:00am - 16:45pm (including break/s) No weekends required Weekly pay every Friday Pay & Benefits £13.69 per hour Weekly pay Ongoing, consistent work Supportive team environment Immediate starts available Requirements Ability to work in a physically active role Good teamwork and communication skills Reliability and punctuality Willingness to work outdoors in all weather Apply Today If you're ready to start work straight away and join a hardworking, friendly team, apply now!
