Engineering Coordinator GRE02
Hinkley Point C, Somerset - Minimum 3 days a week on site.
PAYE £288.15 or Umbrella £404.38
Step into a role where your coordination skills will help shape the future of clean energy in the UK. As an Engineering Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of one of the country's most ambitious infrastructure projects—Hinkley Point C. This is your chance to make a real impact, working on a project that's powering millions of homes with low-carbon electricity.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As an Area Engineering Coordinator, you'll be part of the Joint Design Office on site, supporting the Area Engineering Lead in coordinating all engineering disciplines for a specific construction area. You'll manage the flow of design deliverables, oversee design changes, and ensure that all engineering activity aligns with the construction schedule. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of nuclear innovation, where your input will directly support the delivery of a safer, cleaner energy future.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll play a vital role in ensuring that design packages are ready for construction, attending reviews and identifying any issues that could impact nuclear safety or quality. Your coordination will help maintain alignment between design, construction, and contractor teams, ensuring that all changes are managed efficiently and effectively.
Working closely with multiple stakeholders, you'll help resolve technical queries, manage open points, and ensure that all engineering work is prioritised to meet site needs. Your oversight will help maintain the integrity of the construction programme and ensure that all processes meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.
You'll also lead a small design team, acting as the main point of contact for a defined plant area. Your leadership will be key in driving collaboration, managing risks, and ensuring that all engineering activity supports the successful delivery of this landmark project.
Who You Are
You bring a strong background in engineering—whether civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical—or perhaps in project management. You've got experience coordinating complex projects, managing multiple workstreams, and aligning diverse teams to deliver results.
Your communication and stakeholder management skills are second to none, and you're confident working across disciplines to keep things moving smoothly. Experience in civil or structural design, or with mechanical/electrical systems, will serve you well, as will a good understanding of NEC contracts and CDM regulations.
You're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ready to lead, adapt, and drive improvements. If you're familiar with BIM tools like Navisworks, Tekla, or Revit, even better—you'll be well-equipped to navigate our digital-first approach to engineering.
Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
