Overview

We are recruiting to a Band 8a Advanced Nurse Practitioner post within our Community Paediatrics service. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic nurse with advanced clinical skills, who is committed to improving outcomes for children and families — particularly in relation to ADHD assessment and management.

Candidates should hold a postgraduate qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice (PGDip or MSc), or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience and capability through a recognised credentialing route. Independent prescribing is essential.

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing expert clinical assessment, management, and prescribing in the context of ADHD and neurodevelopmental conditions. You will apply advanced practice skills across all four pillars (clinical, education, leadership and research), with a primary focus on clinical care. You will also contribute to service development, training, and ongoing quality improvement. The postholder must be able to practice autonomously and demonstrate evidence of delivering care at an advanced level. They must also demonstrate capability in assessing risk, managing complexity, and supporting families across diverse communities.
