We are looking for a fun and passionate qualified childcare professional (minimum Level 3 in childcare and education or equivalent) to lead a team in our Staff Day Nursery based on Kingston Hospital grounds. The nursery provides day care for children aged 3 months to 4 years whose parents/carers are employed by Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. You will work within a dedicated, established team committed to outstanding quality of provision in the baby room.
Main duties of the job
To assist the Nursery Manager and Deputy in the provision of day care for children of staff working at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and to deputise for the Manager or Deputy, covering the full range of service in their absence as required.
To ensure that the Nursery provides a high standard of care within the regulations governing the care of children aged 3 months – 5 years.
Room Leader responsibilities include leading staff in providing childcare for children aged 3 months – 5 years.
Very importantly, you will work shifts between 7am and 5.30pm, covering a 37.5 hour week.

Job responsibilities
1. To maintain a high standard of care for every child attending Honey Bees Staff Day Nursery.
2. To be aware of all the needs of the children who attend the nursery and encourage their development in every area.
3. To organise and plan activities, considering the children's individual interests, needs and developmental requirements, ensuring educational needs align with Early Years Curriculum guidance.
4. Oversee planning and developmental progress of all children within your group, ensuring Key Workers maintain up-to-date records for all areas of development.
5. Provide supervision and support to the practitioners working within your room and the setting as required.
6. Assist in the day-to-day management of the Staff Nursery where necessary, including providing budgetary and statistical information and other reports as required.
7. Regularly update the Nursery Manager on children’s development and staff progress, highlighting any concerns.
8. Produce reports for childcare and work experience students as required.

Qualifications
* MINIMUM LEVEL 3 QUALIFICATION IN CHILDCARE AND EDUCATION
* Current PFA certificate
* Current food hygiene certificate
Experience
* Experience of working with children between the ages of 3 months to 24 months.
Skills
* Be able to support, supervise and offer guidance to staff members and students.
