The individual in this role will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for the order management, material supply, operational logistics as well as inbound and outbound logistics. As a Head of Supply Chain you will ensure the ramp-up of the production by implementation of orders in the ERP-System, developing and ensure delivery processes of goods and control of the production processes. The individual will be responsible for:
* Responsible for inbound supply base to ensure timely delivery of materials and outbound logistics accordance with the quality, legal and regulatory standards
* Responsible for the planning and execution of order management as well as tracking the progress of the production process
* Manage all aspects of people management, including day to day responsibility of teams' performance management and development to include attendance, sickness, overtime approvals, training (where appropriate), PDP's (Personal Development Plans), and behavioural and conduct related issues.
* Hiring and Development of a team of employees in the above-mentioned areas
* Support the Plant Manager in achieving production KPI's (e.g. Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People) targets and actively participate with continuous improvement activities (e.g. production efficiency, OEE, operating cost reduction, safety, PPS & 5S).
* Supporting the ramp-up of the new production facility for large-calibre weapon systems
* Allocate work to the Teams and communicate issues, progress and achievements.
* Escalate issues and disruption to the Production and Production Manager in a timely manner.
* Encourage the Team to submit improvement ideas to increase engagement and efficiency.
Completed studies in logistics, industrial or mechanical engineering or comparable
* Significant leadership experience in supply chain management and production planning of a industrial production
* Significant experience in import/export worldwide, especially with the EU and CH
* Significant experience in working with SAP
* Good Communication skills & the ability to lead a high performing team through training, mentoring and the transfer of knowledge.
* Motivated and disciplined with an excellent work ethic, technical aptitude, continuous improvement mind-set and can demonstrate good attention to detail
Desired:
* Experience in metal processing (e.g. turing, milling).
* Experience in import/export of military goods.
* Experience in ramp-up of new production processes.
* Experienced SHE behaviours to teams through positive promotion of safety awareness, risk management and compliance
