About the Role
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting class teachers, delivering interventions, and helping pupils build strong foundations in their early education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
2. Provide targeted 1:1 and small group phonics and literacy interventions
3. Assist with planning and preparing classroom resources
4. Support pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional needs
5. Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, structured learning environment
6. Contribute confidently within the classroom and take initiative when required
Essential Requirements
7. Previous experience working within Key Stage 1
8. Confidence supporting phonics, early reading, writing and numeracy
9. Strong behaviour management skills
10. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
11. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
12. A proactive and flexible approach
Desirable
13. Relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or 3)
14. Experience supporting pupils with SEND
15. Knowledge of phonics programmes ( Read Write Inc. or similar)
