Overview
Electrician Renewables role at Unika. We are seeking a skilled and motivated electrician to work on renewable energy installations, including domestic and/or commercial solar PV systems.
What You’ll Do
* Install, test, and commission domestic and/or commercial solar PV systems.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
* Work with DC and AC circuits, inverters, isolators, and fault finding.
* Familiar with remote monitoring systems, data loggers, and apps.
* Follow H&S protocols, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS); comply with UK building regulations and DNO requirements.
* Report faulty appliances, installations or equipment which do not meet safety regulations.
* Operate machinery and equipment safely using safety devices and practices.
* Carry out all aspects of electrical works and travel regionally or nationally as required; flexibility to work overtime or weekends when required.
What We Need From You
* You have served a recognised Electrical apprenticeship and/or appropriate full electrical qualifications (Essential).
* Must hold an 18th Edition I.E.E.
* MCS Accreditation knowledge or experience (Microgeneration Certification Scheme).
* Experience in Solar PV or Renewables preferred (training available).
* City & Guilds 2399 – Solar Photovoltaic Installation (now discontinued but still recognised) or equivalent qualifications (e.g., LCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Solar PV Systems; BPEC Solar PV Installer Course desirable).
* ECS Gold Card (Essential).
* Passion for sustainability and innovation.
* A full UK driving licence under 7 points and own a full set of tools.
