Hot Numbers Coffee, an independent coffee roasters, is looking for a passionate, experienced Café Manager for our lively store in Shepreth The ideal candidate will lead a vibrant team by example, ensuring outstanding customer service and making sure the whole team get the best out of our coffee. The Café Manager will also be overlooking and managing health and safety, the cleanliness of the café and being generally responsible for all aspects of the building and café.
Role Responsibility
* Set a professional example to all staff members, emphasising quality and efficiency and maintain a good working atmosphere within the café.
* Workstations - Manage staff areas effectively during busy and quiet periods.
* Train - To train all members of staff to the highest standards. This includes making sure that there is a suitable management structure in place for the Supervisors and Assistant Managers to follow.
* Teamwork and communication – Emphasise the importance of teamwork and encourage initiative amongst your staff and to communicate well with your team.
* Staffing levels – maintain optimum staffing within the café through efficient rota scheduling to ensure good staff cover and customer service at all times.
* Cleanliness – Ensure the café maintains excellent levels of cleanliness, organisation and hygiene at all times.
* Maintaining Hot Numbers' 'green' credentials through suitable recycling, packaging choices and waste management.
* Conduct Appraisals – discuss career progression and organise associated training with the Operations Manager and Senior Manager; recognising and understanding personal issues amongst your team, and dealing with them appropriately and sensitively with HR support as necessary.
Menu, Stock Ordering and Control
* Stock ordering – efficient ordering and communication with suppliers and our kitchen team to ensure sufficient daily stock.
* Par levels - set sensible levels with guidance by the Operations Manager and Senior Manager.
Health and Safety, Licensing and Compliance
* Ensure Company Policies are adhered to by all staff members.
* Health and safety - understand and upkeep current health and safety and licensing legislation and communicate this to all staff.
* First Aid – know who your first-aider is, what to do in an emergency and ensure ourfirst aid supplies within the café are stocked.
Hours of Work:
* Ability to work early mornings and weekends is a must. Our shifts start from 6.00am to prepare for opening to customers at 7.00am. Our Cafe Manager contracts are 40hrs per week over 5 days. We operate as a business seven days a week.
