Charge Nurse role at NSFT Jobs. NSFT secure services provides mental health services for adults from 18 years and above, offering admission, assessment and treatment within a secure environment for individuals with severe mental health problems. Northside House provides rehabilitation activities to support progression along service user treatment pathways and aims to enable patients to function with greater independence while maintaining safety.
We are focused on quality improvements and organisational changes within Secure and Forensic Services. This is a role within a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team with ongoing training and development opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Management: Responsible for line management of identified service members; monitor the practice of junior staff and identify learning and development needs in respect of the clinical skills base; maintain professional, therapeutic relationships with patients, carers and colleagues; provide regular line management supervision and appraisals to junior staff; complete ward rotas to ensure a sufficiently and safely staffed ward at all times.
* Clinical: Be accountable for own professional practice; support development and implementation of recovery-focused interventions for patients with mental illness; provide training and support to others, including non-statutory agencies; demonstrate effective personal planning and organisation of daily work load for self and others; work flexibly and manage working time according to service demands; make clinical judgements and identify alternative courses of action to provide high-quality care and support others to do the same.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience in nursing leadership and line management within a mental health setting.
* Ability to plan, organise and prioritise clinical and administrative tasks; sound clinical judgement and decision-making.
* Willingness to train and develop others and to work flexibly to meet service demands.
