The CAMHS HEAD 2 HEAD team is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed CAMHS Senior Mental Health Practitioner (e.g., clinical nurse specialist or equivalent) to join the team.
Applicants should hold a professional qualification and have experience working with young people displaying harmful sexual behaviour, as well as an interest in those involved in the Youth Justice system, with co-existing substance use difficulties, First Onset Psychosis, and At Risk Mental State.
Please note: Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. The cost is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), deducted from salary over the first two months. Enrolment in the DBS Update Service is encouraged, with an annual fee of £16.
The role requires experience working with young people with Harmful Sexual Behaviour. Key duties include comprehensive assessment and intervention of young people and their families, consultation with the network on HSB cases, and delivering HSB training to professionals. The post involves being an integral part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
The team works with a diverse group of young people with complex needs, including mental health difficulties, substance use, and involvement with the Youth Justice Service. The team adopts an assertive outreach approach to engagement, aiming to reduce stigma and tailor assessments and interventions to individual needs.
This position involves specialist assessments, including neurodiversity, risk, and safety planning, as well as providing consultation and training related to HSB.
