Learning Support Worker – SEN/SEMH Settings
About:
Prospero Teaching, a leading education recruitment agency, is currently seeking dedicated and passionate Learning Support Workers to work in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) settings in the Halifax area. As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, helping them achieve their full potential in an inclusive educational environment.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
1. Location – Halifax
2. Position – Learning Support Worker
3. Type of work – Classroom support
4. Contract or position start date – ASAP
5. Duration / Likely Duration – Full academic Year
6. Contract or position end date (if applicable) – Ongoing
7. Contract type (perm/temp to perm) – Temporary – Permanent
8. Full time/part time – Full time
9. Minimum rate of pay – £85- 95 per day.
10. Hours – 8:30 am – Mon – Fri (term time only)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
11. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN/SEMH needs.
12. Strong classroom management skills while providing an inclusive learning environment.
13. Patience, empathy, and understanding of diverse learning needs.
14. LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable.
15. GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
16. Possess strong interpersonal skills while communicating with parents, pupils and staff.
17. Team Teach Trained (advantageous)
18. Personal care (advantageous)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
19. Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional sector related references.
