Rural Surveyor – East of England (Home-Based)
💼 £39,205 – £49,813 per annum
Are you a qualified Rural Surveyor looking for a role where your expertise directly contributes to meaningful land and property outcomes? We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading conservation-focused organisation that manages a diverse and dynamic rural estate across the East of England.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated professional to take ownership of a varied portfolio, working across land management, acquisitions, disposals, and risk mitigation. You’ll be part of a collaborative national team, with the flexibility to work from home and travel across the region.
🌿 Key Responsibilities
Land & Property Management
* Oversee rural property matters including rent reviews, leases, licences, and land management contracts
* Provide expert advice on agricultural systems and agri-environment schemes
* Negotiate wayleaves, easements, and landlord consents
Acquisitions & Disposals
* Lead on the acquisition of land and property for operational and strategic purposes
* Manage valuations and negotiations for purchases, leases, and disposals
Risk & Compliance
* Support internal audits and ensure compliance with grant schemes
* Help develop systems to manage legal, financial, and reputational risks
Collaboration & Support
* Work closely with surveyors, area managers, and project teams
* Share knowledge and best practices across a national network
* Provide on-site advice to optimise land use and financial returns
🧭 Candidate Profile
* Chartered Surveyor (RICS Rural or equivalent)
* Strong post-qualification experience in rural estate management
* Knowledge of agricultural subsidies and cross-compliance in England
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
* Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required
